Personas

User archetypes, who gives feedback, who benefits from features. Powers per-segment views across the app.

Personas are the user archetypes that consume your product. They're the linking key that lets you ask "what does the 'platform engineer' persona say?" across every entity.

What you'll see

  • Segment strip: enterprise / mid-market / SMB / startup / internal counts above the table
  • List view: avatar, name, ID, segment, role, feedback count, initiatives count, revenue impact, description; sorted by name
  • Filter bar: segment

Row drawer

  • Name, role, segment (the API field is company)
  • Description, goals (string array), pain points (string array)
  • Revenue impact (free-text classification)
  • Linked feedback / themes / features / products / modules: every junction the persona participates in

Avatars

Each persona has an illustrated avatar, shown in the list and beside its name in the detail view.

  • Drawn when you save: the first time you save a new persona, ProductSense reads its name, role, company, description, goals and pain points and chooses a look: hair, facial hair, glasses, expression, clothes and a colour. It picks a colour the workspace's other personas don't wear, so they're easy to tell apart. Skin tone is left to chance, never inferred.
  • Shuffle (key S): click the avatar to open its menu. Shuffle draws a new variation of the same look at once and saves it; it costs nothing.
  • Redraw with ProductSense (key R): asks ProductSense for a new look from the persona as it reads now, for example after you've rewritten its description.
  • Personas created through the API, MCP, an import or a meeting get a starting look of their own until someone redraws it. Without an Anthropic key, Redraw picks a random neutral look.

The illustrations are Avataaars by Pablo Stanley, drawn with DiceBear.

How they're set

  • Onboarding wizard seeds 2–3 personas from your input, each with an avatar
