Overview
Golden Thread overview
Interactive graph of every link from feedback through to outcomes, walk upstream or downstream from any node.
The Golden Thread page is the visual graph of your entity relationships, every feedback ↔ theme ↔ feature ↔ initiative ↔ release ↔ outcome link, in one canvas.
What you'll see
- Six columns: feedback, themes, features, initiatives, releases, outcomes, with connection lines drawn between linked rows.
- Hover to trace: hovering a card highlights the thread it belongs to, upstream and downstream, and dims everything else.
- There is no search bar or filter panel on the canvas; use the global command palette (
⌘K/Ctrl+K) to find a specific row by sequence ID or title.
Common actions
- Click any card → opens the entity in its detail dialog
- Linking happens from the entity's own drawer (or the row context menu on its list page); the canvas itself is read-only
When to use it
- Reviewing strategy completeness: does every initiative have feedback upstream?
- Investigating an outcome: what feedback contributed to this release's outcome?
- Cleanup: find features with no upstream (built because someone said so), or feedback with no downstream (un-themed for >30 days).
Data flow
Read-only graph composed from the entity rows and the junction tables that connect them:
theme_feedback: themes ↔ feedbacktheme_features: themes ↔ featuresfeedback_features: feedback ↔ features (direct, when a single voice maps to a single feature)feature_initiatives: features ↔ initiativesrelease_initiatives: initiatives ↔ releasesrelease_features: releases ↔ features (direct)outcome_features: outcomes ↔ features (direct, when a feature is named as moving an outcome)- outcomes also hang off their initiative through
outcomes.initiative_id, so a release shows the outcomes of the initiatives it ships
Data loads when the page opens; reload to pick up changes made elsewhere.
