Channels are the routes by which you reach customers. ProductOS doesn't run campaigns, it tracks the **inventory** of channels so launches and messaging can compose against them.

## What you'll see

- **List view**: name, type (`owned | earned | paid | partner`), status (`active | planned | paused | retired`), priority (`high | medium | low`)
- **Overview strip**: channels per status
- **Filter bar**: type, status, priority

## Row drawer

- Name, type, description, status
- Priority: how heavily this channel weighs in launch planning
- Metrics: four fixed fields (reach, conversion, cost, notes). Update them in the drawer or via the API

## Common actions

- **Add Channel** button in the toolbar
- Edit any metric in the drawer
- Set status to `retired` to keep a channel for historical lookback without it reading as live
- **ProductSense** in the toolbar: AI reviews your channel inventory and proposes edits

## Channel + launch

Launch Plans list their channels as free-text entries (e.g. "Email, Blog, Slack") rather than picking rows from this table, so retiring a channel here doesn't change existing launches. Keep retired entries around for historical lookback.
