# ProductOS vs Notion

Notion is a flexible workspace where many product teams build their own roadmap and feedback databases. ProductOS is purpose-built instead: feedback, themes, Work, initiatives, releases and outcomes are linked for you, with strategy, launches and sales intelligence on the same record, and AI and agents that understand that structure.

Checked against Notion's own site on 2026-09-29.

## Choose Notion if

you want one flexible space for docs and lightweight tracking across the whole company, and you're happy to design and maintain your own product system.

## Choose ProductOS if

you want the product system built for you, with links that stay correct and a clear answer to why each thing was built and whether it worked.

## Where Notion is stronger

- Flexibility: any schema, with docs and databases in one place for the whole company.
- Notion Sites and Forms on every plan, and a Jira sync on Enterprise.
- It's often already where the rest of the company works.

## Where ProductOS is different

- The product model is built in: feedback, themes, Work, initiatives, releases and outcomes, linked both ways.
- Accounts with ARR, OKRs, launches, battle cards and win/loss are first-class, not templates to maintain.
- AI and agents work over that structure, so they can answer why something was built and whether it worked.
- A public roadmap, feedback portal and changelog come with it.

## Moving from Notion

Connect a Notion database and ProductOS pulls its rows in as feedback. Bring features, initiatives and the rest over with the Excel template. Keep Notion for docs and wikis; ProductOS links to them from the Work they describe.

## Questions

### Why not just build product management in Notion?

You can, and many teams start there. The cost is maintenance: links drift, templates go stale and nothing checks that a shipped feature traces back to evidence or forward to an outcome. ProductOS ships that structure and keeps it consistent.

### Can ProductOS import from Notion?

Yes. The Notion integration pulls a database's rows in as feedback, and the Excel import covers features, initiatives and the rest.

### Do both work with AI agents?

Both have MCP servers that read and write. In ProductOS the agent works over a product model, so a question like which key result a feature moves has a direct answer.
